Will TG Venkatesh's Warning To KCR Work?

Will TG Venkatesh's Warning To KCR Work?

TDP Rajya Sabha member TG Venkatesh made a sensational statement that his party will give a call to the Andhras in Telangana not to support the TRS in the elections if KCR did not support AP’s demand for Special Status.

The Telugus in Karnataka responded to our call and voted against the BJP for not fulfilling the promises made in the AP Reorganisation Act and denying SCS to AP. Similarly, we will give a call to the Andhras if KCR does not support SCS to AP.

In fact, at the time of bifurcation, KCR promised the same; that he will also stand up for AP getting its fair due.

Why was he silent during the recent Niti Aayog meeting when Chandrababu Naidu asked for SCS?

The BJP is not doing justice to AP only because certain vested interests in the Telugu states are cooperating with it,” said TG Venkatesh.

Interestingly, TG Venkatesh says that the party asked Telugus not to vote for BJP in Karnataka whereas Chandrababu Naidu denied that he tried to influence the voters there in any form. But more important now is his direct appeal or warning to KCR.

Even when KCR first started the T-agitation and KCR’s harsh words were creating unrest among the Andhras in Hyderabad, TG Venkatesh was the first to give some sort of solace to the Andhras.

He said that if any attacks were made against Andhras, a special army was being trained in Rayalaseema that would come to Hyderabad to protect the Andhras.

The Andhras were then happy that there was someone who actually was by their side. But later on, TG Venkatesh became silent and bifurcation became inevitable. Now, what will KCR’s response to Venkatesh be?

KCR in order to negate the Andhra effect on his party’s prospect in GHMC elections actually disenfranchised a lot of Andhra votes.

Nevertheless, Andhra votes are definitely capable of influencing the outcome of the polls in many constituencies.
