Just look at the past. There was no single incident when KCR attacked YS Jagan verbally. No one knows the reason or conclude a logic for this, but it is true. He cursed every opposition leader but never pointed out Jagan. Now, YS Jagan is stepping into Telangana for Odarpu Yatra with the slogan of bringing Rajanna Rajyam. Being the leader of TRS who is going to merge with Congress, will KCR open his mouth against Jagan at least now?
In what is being seen as a carefully planned strategic move, YSRCP leader YS Jagan is planning to tour Telangana. As a part of his odarpu yatra, he will address a huge public meeting in Khammam and tour the Nalgonda district.
Ever since the news came out, Telangana Congress and TRS leaders are showering criticism on the YSRCP chief. They already warned him that he will face a situation similar to the one he faced in Telangana earlier.
If one were to look at the current scenario, everyone should have the freedom to move around Telangana region, now that a separate Telangana state has been formed.
However, since Jagan’s tour is being planned keeping the forthcoming general elections in mind, the local leaders are unhappy with the developments.
On the other hand, Jagan is well aware of the antagonism of the local leaders. In fact, he has his reasons to go ahead with his plan.
The YSRCP leaders in Khammam and Nalgonda are confident that the party has a good standing. So, Jagan’s tour will strengthen the party’s chances in both the districts.
In Khammam, Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy is trying to contest to the Lok Sabha on YSRCP ticket. Pre-poll surveys have shown that the party will manage to get at least six to seven seats in Khammam and Nalgonda.
Another important reason could be that Jagan should be anticipating hero worship in Seemandhra if he successfully tours Telangana at this time. He can show off that despite being a Samaikyavadi, he managed to tour the Telangana districts after bifurcation. Even if any untoward incident were to happen or if the local leaders were to oppose him, it will directly translate into sympathy votes in Seemandhra.
However, it remains to be seen if Jagan will get police clearance to hold meetings around Telangana. And if he does get the permission, if the local parties do not disrupt his tour, then everything will go on smoothly.
It remains to be seen if his tour will bring him any votes though!
