Why TJAC now? Rebels question Kodanda

The split in Telangana Joint Action Committee, which had spearheaded the movement for separate Telangana state, has been formalised with the suspension of rebel leaders Pittala Ravinder and Nallapu Prahlad, besides the resignation of woman leader Tanveer Sultana.

It was pretty evident that the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi is behind the split in TJAC, so as to weaken its chairman Prof M Kodandaram, who raised a banner of revolt against chief minister and TRS supremo K Chandrasekhar Rao.

After the government successfully thwarted the rally of the unemployed using the police force, the TRS leadership managed to wean a few leaders away from Kodandaram.

Now, the rebel leaders have started attacking Kodandaram questioning the very purpose of continuing the TJAC.

“There has been a talk all over the state as to whether there is any need for TJAC now, as the Telangana state was formed. Yet, Kodandaram unilaterally decided to continue it for his selfish interests,” they said.

However, they did not say why they have been associated with Kodandaram all these days when they felt that there was no need for TJAC.

And the rebel leaders accused Kodandaram of indulging in corrupt practices.

“We know how suitcases come to his residence and how he is secretly holding meetings with the leaders of a particular caste. We will expose him soon,” he said.

Don’t be surprised, if leaders like Pittala and Prahlad would get plum posts in the government sooner or later!
