Thanks to the activities of the TRS Party itself, the TDP and Revanth Reddy might emerge unscathed from the ACB sting operation.
A technicality might save the TDP from further embarrassment. If the charges are filed against Revanth that he tried to bribe Stephenson for an MLC vote, it might not hold good in a court of law.
Technically, the TDP still has 20 MLA’s in Telangana. The minimum number required for an MLC vote is 17. Since the resignation of the likes of Talasani Srinivas Yadav and others hasn’t been accepted, they are officially listed as TDP members.
Naidu and Co will argue that since they have the required numbers, they did not need to bribe Stephenson. And since the Court will go by facts alone, Revanth might get acquitted.
Of course, another reason has to be shown for the cash which Revanth brought, but that is entirely another story and will take the better part of a decade.
