Why Naidu Is Showing So Much Love For Seema?

For the last few days, Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu has been showing tremendous interest on Rayalaseema districts. Soon after the Krishna Pushkarams, Naidu visited Chittoor district and toured several parts in the name of promoting sprinkler irrigation.

Now, he is touring Anantapur district, saying that he would not move out of Rayalaseems till he drives away drought from there.

He declared all the four districts as drought-prone and started reviewing the drought-relief works on war footing. He announced a series of concessions for Seema farmers.

One wonders why Naidu has been showing so much love for Rayalaseema suddenly. Reason is simple: the people of Rayalaseema are fretting and fuming at him for focussing only on Krishna and Guntur districts and ignoring their areas.

At a time, when the Rayalaseema districts have been facing acute drought conditions, Naidu concentrated on propagating Krishna Pushakarams by spending thousands of crores.

At the same time, the YSR Congress party is getting ready for launching a massive agitation in Rayalaseema in protest against the neglect of the region by the Naidu government. This has forced the chief minister to shift his focus on the Rayalaseema to win back their confidence by taking up a series of programmes.
