Why Did KTR, Kavitha Skip Telangana Fete?

At a time when the entire Telangana community was celebrating the second anniversary of the new state formation on Thursday, two prominent leaders – IT minister K T Rama Rao and Nizamabad MP K Kavitha were conspicuous by their absence.

While KTR had been to United States on the pretext of meeting business honchos and attracting investments to Telangana, Kavitha went to Australia just last week to participate in various programmes.

Since both of them are children of TRS president and Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao, their absence at the celebrations has definitely raised many eyebrows.

Even if one assumes that the programmes are fixed for KTR well in advance, he must have been aware that there are going to be celebrations on June 2 and he should have planned his schedule in such a way that he would be back by that date.

And Kavitha’s programmes are no so important; so, she could have postponed her Australia visit. Yet, they chose to stay away from Hyderabad on June 2.

There are speculations that KCR himself had ordered that both of them should go out of city, apparently to avoid media focus on them. Otherwise, it would have been their show all the way, which KCR did not want to happen. May be, there is a point in it!
