Who's Naidu To Shout At Bankers?

Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu's overaction on the ongoing currency crisis has caused a lot disgruntlement among the bankers.

At a time when the bank are working overtime to meet the cash requirements of the people in the event of demonetisation, the chief minister is causing a lot of inconvenience to bankers by calling them for meetings for hours together at his camp office and also troubling them with teleconferences.

The bankers are also taking serious exception to Naidu angrily shouting at bankers for not providing enough cash to the people.

"First of all, we are not his subordinates. Who is Naidu to shout at us? There is a huge gap between demand and supply of currency by the Reserve Bank of India. We are trying to adjust whatever little amount we get from the banks among our customers.

"We are working even on holidays and even those who were on leave have been asked to report to duty to meet the demand. Without bothering to find out our difficulties, Naidu is shouting at us. We don’t accept it,” a bank official said after an emergency meeting of the Andhra Pradesh Bankers’ Association.

They also found fault with Krishna district collector for inspecting banks and interrupting the work of the employees.

“If the government does not stop troubling us, we will be forced to take to agitation path,” the official said.
