Salman Khan might have retracted his tweets in support of Yakub Memon, but Asaduddin Owaisi continues to polarize society with his controversial remarks.
Owaisi questions the government saying that the ‘Babri Masjid demolition’ was the reason for the Mumbai blasts.
“The Mumbai blast accused has been sentenced to death but has anyone accused in the Babri Masjid demolition been sentenced? Killers of Beant Singh and Rajiv Gandhi escaped capital punishment because they had political backing but Yakub was sentenced because he had none,” said Asaduddin.
While the merits and de-merits of Asaduddin’s statements are best left to the readers themselves, of late, it has clearly become a trend of sorts for Owaisi to be championing the cause of fundamental rights of the terrorists and garner populist votes from his community.
He had earlier raised a hue-and-cry over the encounter of Viqaruddin and his men. now, it is Yakub Memon.
If one were to follow Owaisi’s graph, it is only a matter of time before he speaks up for Bhatkal, the perpetrator of the ‘Dilsukhnagar bomb blats.’
