Who is right? Parakala or Naidu?

The cash-for-vote scam involving Telugu Desam Party legislator A Revanth Reddy is turning out to be a tight noose around party president and AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu.

Apparently, the party leaders have started speaking in different tones on the audio tapes allegedly containing the conversation between Naidu and nominated MLA Elvis Stephenson who was offered bribe to vote for TDP candidate in the MLC elections. And Naidu himself landed in a soup by contradicting his own party men.

According to analysts, there is a lot of difference between the comments of Naidu and that of his media advisor Parakala Prabhakar. Though Naidu admitted that his telephone was bugged, Prabhakar said the voice did not belong to the Chief Minister and the TRS government had doctored the tapes.

“Now, if allegations of telephone tapping are correct, then Naidu indirectly admitted that he had indeed spoken to the MLA. In such case, how can Parakala say the voice did not belong to Naidu? Obviously, the TDP leaders did not do proper homework before launching a counter attack on TRS government,” sources said.

TRS MP B Vinod Kumar, denying the allegations of phone tapping, rebutted that the Telangana government has no business to violate Telegraph Act.

With advent of technology, anyone can record voice on their phones and voice came to light as that of Naidu, he asserted.
