While TDP Plays Paritala Card, It's Ranga For Jagan

Ever since the Assembly sessions of Andhra Pradesh have started, the TDP members have been trying to corner YS Jagan Mohan Reddy by bringing up the murder of Paritala Ravi that took place in Anantapur ten years back.

Vexed by constant allegations, Jagan has decided to counter the TDP members by referring to the Vangaveeti Mohana Ranga murder dating back to 1988.

Incidentally, both parties are trying to gain political mileage by raking up issues that have been closed for long.

In both instances, the guilty as per law have been punished. Yet, both YSRCP and TDP are making sure that the murders are not forgotten.

While Jagan’s name is being constantly drawn into the Paritala Ravi controversy, TDP MLA Devineni Nehru and his associates are constantly accused in the Ranga case.

Incidentally, not many are aware of TDP MLA Velagapudi Ramakrishna’s name being involved in Ranga case. Now, Jagan has refreshed the memory of TDP members by bringing up his name and alleging that present Speaker Kodela Sivaprasada Rao was home minister at that time.

Not stopping there, Jagan also reminded the House that there were strong allegations at the time that Chandra Babu was well-aware and had in fact supported the murder of Ranga.

However, after her husband’s murder, Ranga’s wife and MLA Ratna Kumari would constantly accuse Chandra Babu in the Assembly of his murder. But in a strange turn of events, she later joined TDP and continued with the party for quite some time.

Similarly, at the time of Paritala’s murder, the TDP members alleged JC Diwaker Reddy for master-minding the murder. Later, a CBI enquiry was started to look into the involvement of JC and Jagan. But their names were cleared eventually.

So, for many years, there was bitter rivalry between Paritala Sunita’s group and JC’s group. However, now, they are both in the same party. Well, that’s what politics is all about. No one is friends or enemies forever here.
