What Was He Referring To?

At a time when Andhra Pradesh and Chandrababu Naidu are trying to get a good deal from the Centre, a stunning development might prove spoilsport for Naidu's plans.

Hardik Patel who is spearheading a demand for the inclusion of Patel community of Gujarat in OBC category spoke at a rally in Ahmedabad where he criticized the Centre.

He then said, “Some people said that you have a strong political presence in Gujarat. You have witnessed it in Gujarat, but not in Bihar. Even Nitish Kumar is one of us. The ignorant people must know that in Andhra Pradesh, Chandrababu Naidu is one among us.”

Of all people, why did Hardik Patel take the name of Chandrababu Naidu? And what exactly did his comments mean?

Was he saying that Chandrababu was also a Patidar (Patel) or was he saying that Chandrababu was also a supporter of his agitation?

Modi is definitely not going to be amused by this. If Hardik Patel was saying that Chandrababu was of the same caste as Patels, it could set a debate because Patels are generally assumed to be Vaishyas and are upper -caste people all across the nation whereas Chandrababu Naidu belongs to Kamma community which is traditionally considered a land- owning community of Andhra Pradesh, dominant in all spheres of society today.
