What did Modi ask Naidu in recent meeting?

Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu told the media after his meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi on January 12 that he had not discussed any politics with the latter but confined himself only to the issues pertaining to the state.

However, media persons in New Delhi sensed that something went wrong for Naidu during the meeting, as was evident from his facial expressions.

The chief minister was looking a dejected man, though he tried to put up a brave face in front of the media.

What could have happened in the meeting? According to former Rajahmundry MP Vundavalli Arun Kumar, Modi had given a rude shock to Naidu during the meeting.

“My sources in Delhi have revealed that Modi had put forth a shocking proposal before Naidu. According to the proposal, if the alliance between the BJP and the TDP has to continue, the TDP should leave all the MP seats in Andhra to the BJP and could contest in all the assembly seats in the next elections,” Vundavalli said.

He said Naidu did not give any answer to Modi but said he could not give any promise to the BJP to that effect but said he would discuss within the party and let the alliance partner know later.

“It appears Naidu is on a weak footing. He seems to be going head over heels before Modi for his selfish needs,” the former MP said.

On Jagan, he said the YSR Congress president would get out of the cases against him, if there was no political interference in judiciary. However, he felt that Jagan was giving promises which cannot be implemented.
