What A Shrewd Fellow!

What A Shrewd Fellow!

A couple of days after Kapu politician Hari Rama Jogaiah's autobiography was released in which he alleged that the murder of Vangaveeti Mohana Ranga Rao was done at the behest of Chandrababu Naidu, Chandrababu convenes a cabinet meeting in which he decides to set up a committee for examining the issue of reservation to Kapus.

He also announced a corpus fund of Rs 100 crore for the welfare of the Kapu community. Now a corpus fund of Rs 100 crore might not be a big deal for a CM who can order a state-of-the art, customized luxury bus for himself worth Rs 6 crore.

But the timing of Naidu’s announcement once again goes to show what a shrewd politician he is. Any anger among the Kapus at Hari Rama Jogaiah’s revelation is sought to be offset with this latest so-called welfare measure for them by the magnanimous CM.

Incidentally, Naidu had also promised a fund of Rs 100 crore for the development of Brahmins. No action has been taken on that front so far.

Pingali Dasarath Ram, a fearless journalist was stabbed to death in the 1980’s in Vijayawada. He was the grandson of Pingali Venkayya who designed the national flag.

Dasarath Ram had accused NTR and Ramoji Rao of bootlegging after imposing prohibition in the State.

All it requires now is for a Brahmin politician to mention the issue again and probably the Brahmins will get their promised fund too.
