Was Attack On Shah A Plan By Naidu?

The Bharatiya Janata Party took serious note of the attempt of the Telugu Desam Party activists to attack the convoy of BJP national president Amit Shah at Alipiri, at the foothills of Tirumala on Friday morning.

BJP MLC and firebrand leader Somu Veerraju accused TDP president and chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu of masterminding the attack on Shah.

“It seems to be a reaction to my comment that Naidu would have to face another Alipiri type of attack, if he tried to malign the BJP on the special category status issue. That is why, he instigated his party activsits to attack Shah’s convoy,” he alleged.

Veerraju said the incident showed how bad the law and order situation in the state was, as a an MP and president of a national party which has been ruling nearly 21 states had no protection.

“It was a pre-planned attack on Shah and had the blessings of Naidu. It shows the criminal mentality of Naidu,” the BJP leader said.

However, Naidu denied having knowledge about the incident. While condemning the attack on the BJP chief, he warned the TDP cadres of indulging in such violent protests.

“Attacks are not our party culture. I strongly condemn the attack. I don’t want recurrence of any such incidents,” Naidu said.
