Although reports emerged in the media alleging there were tapes in ACB's possession containing voice conversations between Chandrababu Naidu and Stephenson, those tapes have not been made public and neither has Chandrababu’s name been mentioned as an accused or a suspect.
Political circles are going into overdrive with the gossip that Venkayya Naidu has interceded on Chandrababu’s behalf to prevent those tapes from being given to the media.
Apparently, Venkayya is on equally good terms with both Chandrababu and KCR and he spoke to KCR to spare Chandrababu any embarrassment.
KCR is believed to have acceded to Venkayya’s request keeping in mind the fact that a quarrel with a Central Minister will work to his own disadvantage.
