Venkaiah Graph Going Down In AP?

Union minister for urban development, information and broadcasting M Venkaiah Naidu is moving heaven and earth to enhance his image in Andhra Pradesh by taking up self-promotion, but going by the party circles, his graph is actually going down.

Despite making tall claims that he has brought the best-ever financial package to Andhra Pradesh which would compensate the loss caused to the state with the denial of special category status, the people are feeling betrayed by Venkaiah’s volte face, according to party sources.

They are of the view that Venkaiah should not have raised the issue of special category status while the AP Reorganisation Bill was being passed in Rajya Sabha and since, he had insisted on it, he should have tried to get the status to AP.

Now, nobody is believing his words that he had tried his best to get the special category status, but he could not succeed because of the 14th finance commission recommendations.

On the other hand, Telugu Desam Party president and AP chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu is trying to play safe saying he had to accept the package because it was essential under the given financial position of the state; thereby shifting the blame on to the Centre.

Now, Venkaiah is desperate to defend himself by holding meetings and rallies in Andhra every week, but there is no way it is helping him. In a way, he has become a villain in the eyes of the Seemandhra people.
