Vangaveeti defection: Just a TDP's mind game?

The rumours doing round in the political circles since Wednesday morning over the possible defection of former Vijayawada (Central) MLA and YSR Congress party leader Vangaveeti Radhakrishna, son of popular into the Telugu Desam Party created ripples in the YSRC.

With the reports being flashed by the media prominently, the YSRC leaders in Vijayawada rushed to media strongly denying the same.

Apparently, YSRC president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy had a talk with Radha to find out whether there was any truth in the reports.

Though it is not known what exactly Radha told Jagan, but the YSRC leaders in Vijayawada hurriedly issued statements denying Radha’s defection to the TDP.

“It is just a mind game being played by the TDP. Radha has no plans whatsoever to join the TDP. He will remain in YSRC and there are now differences between him and the party leaders at all,” YSRC official spokesman Vellampalli Srinivas said.

Ranga-Radha Mitra Mandali convenor A Seshu also condemned the reports that Radha would be joining the TDP.

“It is not true and Radha has not given any indication to us to that effect. How can one expect him to join the party which was responsible for the death of his father?” he asked.

Former minister and YSRC leader K Parthasarathy also denied the rumours and described it is a crooked plan of the TDP leadership to create confusion among the YSRC cadres.

Though Radha is expected to call for a press conference in the evening to clarify on the rumours, he has not done it so far.
