U-turn uncle should apologise on SCS

YSR Congress party on Wednesday demanded an unconditional apology from Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu to tender an unconditional apology for belittling the special category status issue in the past four years.

YSRC spokesman Ambati Rambabu said Naidu had no moral right to protest for the Special Category Status, as he had taken a U-turn only after ignoring the issue for four years.

“Naidu taking up Dharma Porata Deeksha demanding SCS is ridiculous as he was part of the government and had to take the blame for failing to get the status. He had also made every possible effort to water down the issue,” he said.

“Unable to digest the groundswell of public support for the Praja Sankalpa Yatra of YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy, Naidu has now shifted stand and started calling BJP names unmindful of the fact that he had an election tie-up with BJP and was partner of the NDA coalition till recently,” he said.

Describing Naidu’s protest programmes at Vijayawada and Tirupati as an utter flop, Ambati said Naidu had not criticised the Centre but had appealed to the people to give his party 25 MP seats.

“The same venue where Naidu had held the Deeksha at Tirupati was the venue where he, Narendra Modi and Venkaiah Naidu had promised SCS. The video clippings shown by him were selective and in a bid to sabotage SCS the State has agreed for a special package,” he said.

Unless, Naidu tenders an unconditional apology people will not forgive for the betrayal and he has no moral right to hold the deekshas, as it looks ridiculous with the man who opposed SCS now sitting on dharna to demanding the same, more so while in power, he said.
