TTD: AP stands united but Naidu is equally to blame

TTD: AP stands united but Naidu is equally to blame

Any attempts by the Congress, BJP or any other idiotic third front government to seize control over the holy Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanam Board and thereby the temple, should be met with a resistance so strong by the Andhras that any Central government in future will even shudder to think of such a move.

But why have things come to such a pass that each and every scheming idiot at the Centre including regional opportunists like KCR feel that they can take advantage of the Andhras and cheat them whether it be bifurcation, special status or any other issue?

Is it because the Andhras are a peace-loving, soft going people?

In that case, the detractors of the State will find out the hard way that there is a limit to the patience of the people.

Having said that, is there any fault on the part of our administration also, that bodies like VHP are wading into the TTD dispute and politicizing the issue? Definitely!

The TDP government has bungled badly on a host of issues related to the Hindus and the TTD controversy is the latest one.

28 devotees lost their lives in the Godavari Pushkaram tragedy. An enquiry was constituted. Has a single person been booked for the tragedy?

Many temples in Vijayawada were demolished in the name of road widening works, an act which attracted a lot of national attention and infuriated the seers.

The unceremonious sacking of Ramana Deekshitulu. Things definitely could have been so arranged that Deekshitulu could have had an honorable exit.

Unconvincing responses to the queries raised by Ramana Deekshitulu

Appointment of a Christian lady, Vangalapudi Anita, to the TTD Board. Although she was removed later, why did the government not do a proper background check in the first place?

Conveniently, Ramana Deekshitulu has raised all the issues only after being sacked as the temple priest. Nevertheless, the onus is on the government to respond to his questions and clarify the state of affairs to the public.

The Tirumala temple is located in Andhra Pradesh and sole jurisdiction over the temple should always wrest with the Andhras, the way it has been for centuries. This is not KG Basin and the people will go to any extent to retain the status quo of the temple.

On its part, the TDP or whichever State government is in power should also prove itself to be impartial and competent enough to serve the devotees. In that lies everyone’s well-being.
