TRS Feeling Heat Of Farmers!

The suicide by a farmer from Nizamabad near Tank Bund in the heart of the State capital of Hyderabad has put the Telangana Rashtra Samithi government on the back foot.

The ruling party, which had hitherto not taken the Opposition parties’ criticism on the negligence on the  part of TRS government to tackle suicides issue, has not started feeling heat.

Apparently realising that the growing number of suicides by farmers is bringing bad name to the government, Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has asked his ministers to do the damage control by issuing statements that would pacify farmers.

Accordingly, Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao went to Adilabad district to woo farmers. He said the TRS Government is giving top priority to farmers in the state.

Harish asked the farmers to remain courageous to face the problems as the government was with them to help and cooperation for better crops by restoring all the lakes.

Health Minister Dr C Lakshma Reddy told media in Hyderabad that the State government was committed to prevent the recurrence of suicides by farmers in the State.

He said farmers should not resort to extreme step leaving their dependents as orphans. Those in distress and facing problems should call 104 for immediate solution, the minister maintained.

“Since suicide was not the solution to every problem, we must not lose our hearts”, Lakshma Reddy said.

Stating that suicides were very unfortunate, he said the State government will create awareness among the people against suicides and bring down the number of such extreme steps besides providing all succor. He said the government will be with the distressed people.
