Generally, it is the Chief Minister of the State who wields the highest authority and in the case of Andhra Pradesh; one would naturally expect it to be Chandrababu Naidu. Right? Wrong! Currently, the most powerful man in AP is Srinivasa Gargeya, the personal astrologer of Naidu.
Bitten by the ‘Vaastu’ bug, Naidu is placing every decision of his, big or small in front of Gargeya first, for approval.
Gargeya’s influence is clearly manifest in all decisions of Naidu whether it be the location of the new capital in Thulluru despite vociferous opposition to it, Naidu’s refusal to enter the campus of Nagarjuna University, the size and nature of his convoys’ etc.
The latest decision involves the ‘camp office’ of Naidu that is to come up in Vijayawada. It has been decided after the approval of Gargeya to locate it in the Irrigation Department’s Building. Irrigation Minister, Devineni Uma will shift to the first floor.
