The BJP dilemma: Sangh vs Shah

The BJP dilemma: Sangh vs Shah

Maybe Amit Shah has become too powerful for his own good. At any rate, the BJP and Sangh Parivar are caught in a sort of dilemma, the resolution of which could decide whether early polls are held or not.

Amit Shah’s tenure as President of the Bharatiya Janata Party is all set to expire in January. Apparently, the Sangh Parivar wants to make him contest the polls in 2019 and induct him into the Central Ministry.

This would mean that Amit Shah would have to relinquish his post as Chief of the Party. So, the duo of Modi and Shah are keen on calling for early polls in December.

If Shah leads the party to victory again, he will be in a really enviable position and even the Sangh Parivar will have to follow the diktats of Modi and Shah.

In a way, it’s a struggle between two power centres and the outcome can well dictate the immediate future of the nation.
