Hyderabad: To prevent any communal flare up, the state government has decided to monitor all media, both electronic and print, for provocative talk or writing.
Chief minister KCR is learnt to have told the top police brass that no communal tensions ought to arise.
Police have now set up a special cell to monitor all television debates. They will scan print media too.
According to sources, a television channel has already been given notice for holding, encouraging and provoking a debate on communal lines.
“Stringent action will be taken even to the extent of getting TV channels which hold provocative debates shut,” an official source told media.
The special cell will take immediate action. The externment of two persons is an indication of how serious the government is about maintaining peace, an official said.
