All these days, the Bharatiya Janata Party leaders in Telangana were in a state of utter confusion as to how they should deal with the ruling Telangana Rashtra Samithi in the state – as a friendly party or as an enemy.
At a time when they were trying to build up the party as a potential alternative to the TRS, the Central ministers used to dampen their spirits by lavishing praises on TRS chief K Chandrasekhar Rao and his government.
Even the top officials from the Centre, who came to Telangana, were all praise for KCR and his government, describing him as the role model for other Chief Ministers.
This was very much embarrassing for the Telangana BJP leaders. There was no direction from the Centre as well as to what kind of relations they should maintain with the TRS.
But now, national BJP president Amit Shah gave them full clarity when they went to Delhi on Saturday.
He told them to attack the TRS politically and strive to build the party as a strong alternative force.
“The governments are different from the parties. May be the central ministers appreciated the TRS government, but as a party, we should oppose the TRS,” he told them.
Shah made it clear that the BJP would have no alliance with any other party in Telangana and contest all the seats in the next elections.
As per the intelligence reports, the BJP in Telangana is better placed than the Congress party and if the leaders do a little hard work, they can bring the party to power.
