The Congress high command which has miserably failed to rein in the Seemandhra MPs and ministers on the passage of Telangana bill, has virtually sent an SOS to the BJP and is desperately seeking its support.
Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh held a luncheon meeting with senior BJP leaders of the party including Sushma Swaraj and Arun Jaitely and sought their support in the passage of Telangana bill.
The BJP leaders, while extending their support to the bill whenever it is introduced in Parliament, reportedly told the Prime Minister that the party should control its own MPs and ministers who had created unruly scenes in the Lok Sabha on Wednesday.
The BJP leaders also made it clear that the party wanted certain changes in the bill and it would not be approved in its current form.
This led to a question mark over the passage of the Telangana bill.
