Now that the Telugu Desam Party has almost come out of the National Democratic Alliance at the Centre, TDP president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu has no inhibitions now to talk whatever he wants against the Centre.
The party is now planning a massive publicity drive to attack the NDA government for allegedly doing injustice to Andhra Pradesh in not granting special category status and failing to implement the promises made in AP Reorganisation Act.
Naidu is learnt to have told the party’s strategy committee members to work out a plan to take a strong message into the people that the Centre had betrayed the state.
The party is now publishing a 50-page booklet explaining how the NDA government had failed to implement the promises made in the AP Reorganisation Act.
The booklet will be brought out in three languages – Telugu, Hindi and English so that it can be distributed among not only the people of the state but also among all the other political parties in the country, thereby blaming the NDA government.
“The booklet will have the status report on 19 issues mentioned in the Act, which are pending implementation by the Centre. It will counter the arguments being made by the BJP leaders that the Centre has implemented most of the promises,” a party source said.
Apparently, Naidu wants to get away for his failures by throwing the blame on to the Centre for the lack of developmental programmes in the state in the last four years.
