Even as the Telugu Desam Party is continuing the spree of luring the YSR Congress party MLAs into it to weaken the rival camp, there was a surprise development that shocked the TDP leadership on Wednesday.
TDP legislator from L B Nagar constituency in Hyderabad and powerful Backward Classes leader R Krishnaiah made a surprise appearance at Lotus Pond, the official residence of YSR Congress party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy. He closeted with Jagan for more than half an hour.
Though Krishnaiah later told media that he had come to meet Jagan seeking his cooperation in securing 50 per cent reservations for the BCs, party sources say the TDP MLA is learnt to have expressed displeasure with Jagan over Naidu’s politics on Kapu quota issue.
He reportedly told the YSR Congress party president that he would extend all support to Jagan, if he takes up the BC cause.
Krishnaiah openly castigated Naidu for setting up a commission to look into the issue of including Kapus into BC list.
“If that happens, I will fight tooth and nail against the Naidu government,” he said.
