TDP MLA Is Elusive For Maharashtra Cops!

Telugu Desam Party MLA from Udayagiri Bollineni Venkata Rama Rao has remained elusive for the Maharashtra police, who have been desperately on the lookout for him to arrest in connection with a major scam in executing irrigation contractors.

As many as four FIRs have been filed in Maharashtra against the MLA’s company Srinivasa Constructions for the last couple of days and the Opposition parties comprising Nationalist Congress party and the Congress have been agitating for his arrest.

The scam surfaced in Vidarbha Irrigation Development Corporation (VIDC), in which the TDP MLA’s company had indulged in massive cost escalation of works in executing irrigation projects.

The Srinivas Construction company has taken up several irrigation works awarded by Vidharbha Irrigation Development Corporation.

The company management was facing allegations that the estimations of the works were escalated in collusion with the officials.

The ACB on December 12, filed 4 FIRs at Sadar police station regarding Gosikhurd National Irrigation Project in Vidarbha region.

Decisions on 40 tenders granted for Gosikhurd dam project have been under ACB scanner for the last two years.

It has been alleged that the joint venture was allotted a tender even though it was not registered with the registrar of partnership firms and the contractors Srinivas Reddy and Balrami Reddy of Srinivasa Constructions owned by the legislator.

The duo has also been booked in the third case, which is regarding a tender for Mokhabardi lift irrigation scheme.

The TDP MLA's name was figured in irrigation scam and the ACB already launched hunt to grill the MLA but the latter was missing.
