The Seemandhra vote is definitely going to be crucial in determining the outcome of the GHMC polls. And therefore, it is understandable why TRS has suddenly adopted a friendly attitude towards the Seemandhra people.
Even the TDP is roping in its Ministers from Andhra to consolidate on its vote base among the Andhras. But control over Hyderabad is not just getting a major chunk of this vote and the TDP is missing this point.
It needs to appeal to the Telangana voters too and therefore speak the language of inclusiveness to consolidate its presence in the region.
By telling the Seemandhras that the TDP-BJP combine will protect them in Hyderabad, the party is making the mistake of appealing only to this particular segment and losing track of the bigger picture.
It might end up winning the battle and losing the war.
