TDP Gives Yet Another Shock To YSRC In Vizag

Even as YSR Congress party is gearing up for the fight in the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation elections, it received a rude shock on Monday with its senior leader and former deputy mayor Dorababu deciding to jump the fence into the Telugu Desam Party.

Dorababu skipped the meeting with Jagan, who arrived in Visakhapatnam to call on the families of IAF plane mishap victims, and met TDP minister for higher education Ganta Srinivasa Rao in the morning.

He expressed desire to join the TDP, but is said to have put some conditions for the same. Ganta is said to have given assurance to Dorababu that his interests would be taken care of by the party.

The TDP is considering the Visakhpatnam municipal elections very prestigious and does not want to give any chance to the YSR Congress party to bounce back.

During the recent meeting with party workers in Visakhapatnam, Naidu instructed the party leadrs to lure as many YSRC leaders as possible into the TDP so as to weaken the Opposition.

Indications are that the YSRC might join hands with the Congress and the Communists to put up a strong fight in the GVMC elections.
