TDP Gets Central Committee Now!

In the first step towards declaring Telugu Desam Party as a national party, the party has created a Central Committee on the lines of the Communist parties. It was give the approval by party’s Mahanadu on Friday.

And AP Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu was declared as president of TDP Central Committee, rather than just TDP.

It does mean, the party will have two presidents – one in Telangana and one in Andhra Pradesh. At present, senior leaders Enugala Peddi Reddy and Kimidi Kala Venkat Rao were named as conveners of the Telangana and Andhra Pradesh units of the party respectively.

Party’s senior leader Yanamala Ramakrishnudu moved a resolution about declaring the TDP as national party and it was seconded by other senior leaders on the dais on the third day.

Soon after he was declared elected as the central committee president, Naidu was greeted profusely by the party functionaries. While some garlanded their leader, others presented bouquets and even a silver crown. He was administered the conventional oath by Peddi Reddy.
