TDP Deletes Own Poll After Jagan Wins

Political outfits as well as various party leaders often conduct public and online surveys to flaunt their strengths. Likewise, a poll of ‘Who is next CM of AP’ was created on fan page of ruling party TDP.

Guess what; Opposition Leader Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy defeated current Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu in the poll for which 14,300 people cast their votes.

A total of 51 per cent votes were polled in favor of Jagan indicates people are willing to see YSR Congress Party Chief as next CM.

TDP’s Facebook fan page that criticized Jagan and his party activities removed the poll although it was supposed to end two days later.

Apparently, they came to a conclusion that, they can’t beat Jagan when it comes to his following and craze; albeit they felt the poll was not genuine claiming opposition party involved in manipulation to win the poll.

Curiously, TDP politburo member and Agriculture minister Somireddy Chandra Mohan Reddy while speaking to an English daily ruled out the poll and said many factors influenced the poll.

YSRC was quick to say the poll replicated the ground reality.

“Public came to a conclusion that Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is unable to save the interests of Telugus and Andhra Pradesh,” told YSRC official spokesperson Vasireddy Padma to the daily.

She also stated that Naidu visited Delhi 29 times only asking the Centre to send Jagan to jail and increase the number of Assembly seats and nothing about Andhra Pradesh’s interests.

Political analysts say that Naidu and TDP leaders grossly underestimated popular sentiment over Special Category Status, whereas Jagan and his party has been continuously putting pressure on Centre over the issue.
