Shattered by TRS chief KCR's political tactics, the TDP-BJP combine is now looking at Jana Sena chief and power star Pawan Kalyan to steer them to victory in ensuing GHMC elections this month.
Senior leaders of TDP and BJP have started approaching Pawan Kalyan requesting him to campaign for TDP-BJP candidates in GHMC elections.
They feel that Pawan had cast his spell during 2014 Assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh with his intense campaigning for TDP-BJP combine and steered both the parties to power and he would be sure to repeat the magic again in GHMC elections too.
They recall that TDP-BJP combine was lagging behind YSRCP during 2014 polls in AP and after Pawan took the mantle, the fortunes of both the parties had turned around.
Pawan, who is currently busy with Sardar Gabbar Singh film shooting, however, has kept TDP and BJP leaders guessing on whether he would campaign or not.
While the ruling TRS is way miles ahead of all other parties in GHMC elections, the TDP-BJP combine remained clueless on how to tackle the shrewd moves of KCR & Co, who virtually reduced all the parties to a dummy by encouraging defections and not giving enough time even to find candidates to contest by restriction GHMC election process to 15 days between election notification and polling.
In these adverse conditions, TDP-BJP leaders strongly feel that only "Pawan magic" can save them from KCR's onslaught and enable them to put a decent fight.
They are worried that Seemandhra voters, who constitute a significant chunk in GHMC limits, on which TDP-BJP pinned their hopes, were slowly moving towards TRS, after KCR and KTR started attracting them with their punch dialogues, and unless Pawan Kalyan takes up campaign and requests them to vote for TDP-BJP, the chances of winning back their confidence is remote.
The T-TDP and T-BJP leaders are planning to meet Pawan Kalyan personally soon after the GHMC election notification is issued and request him to campaign for the TDP-BJP combine.
