TDP Backstabs AP Again!

Union Finance Minister has signed on a file that would give a 'special incentive package' and not 'special status' to the State.

In agreeing to this proposal, the TDP is once again guilty of backstabbing the people of Andhra Pradesh.

The TDP should have rejected this proposal outright and stood up for the people of AP by demanding the promised ‘special status’ even if it meant the severing of ties with the BJP.

Does the TDP have absolutely no self-respect that it should take something that is not even a miniscule of what was promised to AP? In fact, this is the second blatant instance of the TDP backstabbing the people of AP.

The first time was when Chandrababu Naidu wrote a letter to the Union Government supporting the formation of Telangana even though the people of AP were dead set against it.

After bifurcation, thanks to the loss of Hyderabad, the people of AP found themselves bereft of all development which was solely concentrated in the city of Hyderabad, a development which they were solely responsible for!

The lone hope was the promise of ‘special status’ to AP made in Parliament made by none other than former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. Venkayya Naidu of BJP also promised the moon to the people of AP including a definite ‘special status’.

Today, the same Janus-faced Venkayya Naidu is saying that AP cannot be conferred a special status as other state were also asking for it! What an absolutely shameless volte-face by this man!

When the BJP sought to impose Hindi on the regional states, they were forced to beat a hasty retreat thanks to a simple warning from Jayalalitha. However, where AP is concerned, they can go on playing with the people of the State because our politicians like Chiranjeevi, Chandrababu, Kavuri and Purandeswari have shown themselves to be absolutely self-centered and incompetent at the Centre.

Every single time that Nirmala Seetharaman was in the State, she said that AP would definitely be given a special status. The TDP by agreeing to a special incentives package has badly let down the people of the State.

But what else can one expect from a Party that is headed by  a man who himself came to power by backstabbing his father-in-law?
