T MLA Opposes Kapus In BC List Proposal

T MLA Opposes Kapus In BC List Proposal

Given that Andhra Pradesh has a very large number of Kapus and given the fact that they are a very important vote bank for Chandra Babu Naidu, he has promised that he will definitely consider including Kapus in the BC list.

Now, the opposition to this statement has come from neighbouring state of Telangana, wherein one Telangana MLA who also belongs to a BC community, R Krishnaiah is opposing the move.

His argument is that it is not appropriate to include the cash-rich community of Kapus in to BCs as this would mean killing the interests of economically backward BCs.

He also warned that Chandra Babu must not take up such measures just to pacify the vote bank and added that the BCs would take up huge agitations if he went ahead with the idea.

Though the Constitution does not allow for such changes, Chandra Babu said he will appoint a commission to look into the matter. Krishnaiah said that a survey has to be held to look into the economic and social situation of various castes before taking such a decision.

On the other hand, Telangana BC association president Srinivas Goud said that such moves will impact TDP which had always supported BCs.
