T-Cong Raises Meek Protest Against KCR

The Telangana Congress leaders, who failed to capitalize on their party president Sonia Gandhi’s efforts to grant the separate Statehood to the region in the elections, are now trying to rectify their mistake, though it is a futile exercise now.

Take for example, former Congress MP Ponnam Prabhakar. He is now saying that TRS Chief and Telangana Chief Minister-designate K Chandrashekhar Rao had no reason to claim credit for   getting statehood to Telangana.

“The Congress kept its promise of giving statehood to the region. There is no merit in the TRS claim that just because of their 14 years long movement,  formation of Telangana State has become a reality,” he said.

He reminded that six decades long struggles and persistent movement by various parties mainly by the congress, left and other parties of the region played a crucial role, he said. Ultimately AICC Chief Sonia Gandhi accorded statehood to Telangana keeping the aspirations of the people, he said.

Admitting that the Congress leaders in the region failed to go together and committed mistakes, he said despite giving statehood, they  failed to take it to the people of the region during the elections.
