T-Cong move SC against defections

Congress deputy floor leader in Telangana Legislative Assembly T Jeevan Reddy on Monday announced that his party would approach the Election Commission of India, Governor and also the Supreme Court against the defections into TRS.

Speaking to media persons, Jeevan Reddy accused Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao of trying to eliminate the Congress party in Telangana.

He claimed that AICC President Sonia Gandhi granted statehood to Telangana despite knowing well that the Congress would be wiped out of Seemandhra region.

Instead of being thankful to Sonia Gandhi, KCR is damaging her own party. He said that KCR's actions of encouraging defections were unprecedented in the country.

Jeevan Reddy said that the Congress party would seek the disqualification of the Chief Minister who is acting against the spirit of democracy. Instead of focusing on preventing farmers from committing suicide, KCR is entire focused on causing damage to Congress.

He said that the Chief Minister paid no attention to farmers' suicide in his own Gajwel constituency. Pension scheme benefit was extended only to a few persons after its launch on November 8. Instead of 36 lakh farmers, the crop loan waiver was extended to only 19 lakh farmers and only 25 per cent amount has been paid.
