Sujana Favouring Compromise With Centre?

Even as Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu has been attacking the National Democratic Alliance government with strongest words every day, his party’s two erstwhile Central ministers P Ashok Gajapathi Raju and Y S Chowdary (alias Sujana Chowdary) still seem to be interested in continuing good relations with the Centre.

While Ashok has been still moving closely with his erstwhile cabinet colleagues, Sujana Chowdary is registering his protest only for the record sake but in the backroom,  he is negotiating with the Central ministers.

On Friday, Sujana told Naidu that Union finance minister Arun Jaitely had called him the previous night and discussed with him about the possibility of a compromise.

“He told me that the Centre was ready to make announcements on railway zone, Kadapa steel plant and other pending promises in the Act. However, he did not make any commitment on special category status. What shall we do now?” Sujana asked the boss.

Obviously, Naidu was furious.

“First of all, why did you go Jaitely’s chambers when we cut off links with the NDA? Secondly, why is the Centre trying for a compromise at this stage? What message will it send to the people if we compromise with the Centre now? Let him make the announcements first. We shall decide what we can do then,” he told the MP.

He asked the MPs not to go the central minister’s chambers again, even if they get a call.

“We don’t need to behave like enemies and can have friendly chat with them. But officially, let us not go to them seeking compromise. In any case, let us continue our fight for special status,” he told Sujana.
