Contrary to the speculations that were doing rounds in the last couple of days, Telugu Desam Party president N Chandrababu Naidu declared his trusted lieutenant and Rajya Sabha member Sujana Chowdary as the leader of Telugu Desam Parliamentary Party on Wednesday.
There was a talk that Naidu might prefer another loyalist M Murali Mohan as the TDPP leader, as he wanted Sujana Chowdary to be inducted into the Modi cabinet in the second phase of expansion.
In the morning, there was also a talk that Naidu might suggest the name of Anantapur MP J C Diwakar Reddy as the TDPP leader.
However, he finally preferred Sujana as the TDPP leader, may be because of the latter’s lobbying capabilities.
