Stop Enacting Drama, Mr Naidu!

The YSR Congress party on Friday accused Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu of enacting high dramas with regard to protesting against Centre for the injustice meted out to the state in the Central budget.

Party spokesman and senior leader Botsa Satyanarayana blamed it on Naidu for the raw deal given by the Centre in the Union budget.

“It is only because of the indifference of the state in the last four years that the Centre has ignored the state. He has sacrificed state interests for personal gains,” Botsa said.

He alleged that Naidu had been shying away from mounting pressure on the coalition partner at the Centre only to save his skin for the various corruption charges and cash for vote case.

“He has not shown the kind of commitment we had shown as a responsible opposition party by persistently raising the issues of Special Category Status (SCS), Railway Zone for Vizag and other issues,” he said.

Botsa said not in a single budget did the State Government get things done in favour of the state as it has different and personal agenda to cover up the corruption charges but has no voice to speak about the state interests.

“When we were raising the issues, the State was blaming us for trying to create a wedge with the Centre but at the end of the day no tangible results had come about,” he pointed out.

“These theatrics should be stopped. As an opposition party we held dharnas and protests on various counts and the state failed to get even a single issue resolved as it has lost the bargaining power due to the other preferences like placing personal interests ahead of state welfare which were responsible for the raw deal to the state.

The two union ministers, the chief minister had boasted would do all that is needed for the state which has come to a naught,” he said adding that things would only change with the change of guard in the next year elections.
