Speaker beating TDP drums!

Speaker beating TDP drums!

YSR Congress party president and Leader of the Opposition in the AP Assembly Y S Jaganmohan Reddy was at it again.

While passing serious comments against Assembly Speaker Kodela Siva Prasada Rao for extending support to the ruling Telugu Desam Party for running down the opposition, Jagan also accused the Speaker of ‘beating the drums’ in favor of the TDP.

Speaking to media after the Assembly session, Jagan accused the Speaker of showing partisan attitude towards his party and cutting his mike halfway in the Assembly session.

He expressed serious concern on the way the Assembly was functioning. He slammed the ruling TDP leaders for storming frequently into the well which is the job of the Opposition.

“My speech was disturbed for 15 times and the Speaker cut my mike even before I concluded my speech. We have never seen such a disturbance in the history of Assembly proceedings when a Leader of the Opposition was speaking in the House”, he lamented.

“Can the Speaker keep quiet if we disturb the speech of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu in the Assembly? This is totally undemocratic to disturb the speech of Leader of the Opposition. The Speaker is just behaving like a TDP leader instead of being the head of the Assembly”, he said.

Jagan also said he did not lose cool even when TDP leader D Umamaheswara Rao called YSRCP members as bandicoots.

He also found fault with the Speaker for insisting on giving mike to someone else. “We are trying to follow norms to talk on the budget”, he added.
