Shah sought Ramoji help to rein in Naidu?

Bharatiya Janata Party national president Amit Shah’s visit to Ramoji Film City to call on media baron Ch Ramoji Rao on Friday night has led to several speculations in the media.

Though Shah is said to have met Ramoji as part of his Sampark for Samarthan (meeting to seek support to the BJP), it is believed that Shah could have discussed the present political situation in both the Telugu states.

Especially, the aggressive stand taken by Telugu Desam Party president and Andhra Pradesh chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu against the BJP in his state is learnt to have come up for discussion between Ramoji and Shah.

According to reports, Shah reportedly asked Ramoji’s help to rein in Naidu as the BJP requires a strong party like the TDP after the next elections. Since Naidu treats Ramoji as his god father, he would definitely listen to the latter’s advice.

There is a strong belief that it was only because of Ramoji’s suggestion that Naidu had extended support to the NDA between 1999 and 2004.

However, Ramoji reportedly told Shah that Naidu had stopped seeking his advice long ago, though he still respected him (Ramoji).

He, however, felt that Naidu would never extend support to the Congress party and therefore, the NDA could count on his support in the post-poll scenario.

He asked Shah to adopt a sort of give-and-take approach with Naidu.
