BJP is the new flavour, well, the new party of the season and just about everyone has plans of joining the Saffron party these days. Though many senior Reddy leaders are keen on joining the party, it has emerged that some senior BJP leaders of AP are opposing their entry.
If political gossip is to be believed, ex CM Kiran Kumar Reddy and various other leaders were keen on joining the party and that they would formally join it in the presence of party’s national president Amit Shah. It was said that some YSRCP leaders were also on the list.
Names of Jammalamadugu MLA Adinarayana Reddy, Nellore MP Mekapati Rajamohan Reddy, ex Congress ministers Anam Ramnarayan Reddy, DL Ravinder Reddy have been floating around for some time now.
However, BJP state president Khambhampati Haribabu’s statement has put the Kiran Kumar Reddy group in a fix as Khambhampati has said that the party was not inviting anyone into the party. If anyone was keen to join the party, they had no problems, he had said.
Now, taking this as a slight, Kiran Kumar Reddy and his coterie have strongly condemned joining BJP it is being said. Apparently, they have decided to wait till they get invited by BJP’s national leadership.
However, talk in political circles is that there is yet another angle to this story. According to this version, an English daily has recently reported that a national-level BJP leader is opposing the entry of Reddy leaders into the party.
It is widely known fact that there is no leader above Venkaiah Naidu in BJP from Andhra.
Leaving that aside, it is being said that there is not much action or activity in Andhra BJP unlike during elections time.
So, Amit Shah’s programme too may not acquire great significance at this point in time, say political analysts. However, there is high probability of some surprise entries into the party during his visit, they predict.
