Sai Reddy Defends, TDP Complains To DGP!

The comments made by YSR Congress party MP V Vijay Sai Reddy describing some senior IAS officers and an IPS officer in the Andhra Pradesh government as agents of ruling Telugu Desam Party have triggered uproar in political circles.

On Thursday, TDP MP from Narasaraopet Rayapati Sambasiva Rao lodged a complaint with Director General of Police M Malakondaiah demanding action against Sai Reddy.

He alleged that Sai Reddy had damaged the reputation of the IAS and IPS officers, demoralised them and intimidated them saying action would be taken against them if YSRC came to power.

Rayapati demanded that Sai Reddy be booked under Sections 504, 505 (1) (b), 506 (2), 124 (a) and other relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code.

The YSRC MP, however, defended his comments made against Special Chief Secretary to chief minister Satish Chandra, secretaries in CMO A V Rajamouli and G Sai Prasad, besides senior IPS officer and Additional Director General of Police (Intelligence) A B Venkateshwar Rao.

He said he would stand by his comments that they had conspired with the TDP and helped the latter lure YSRC MLAs to the TDP.

“I stand by words that these officers are behaving like TDP workers and indulging in horse-trading on behalf of the TDP to lure our party MLAs. If they are interested in politics, they should resign from their jobs and join the TDP. Once our party comes to power, we will definitely take action against them,” he said.

“I have all the evidences to prove that these IAS and IPS officers indulged in horse-trading on behalf of the TDP and I will disclose the same at an appropriate time,” Sai Reddy said.
