Rosaiah Enjoys 'Home Coming!'

Former Andhra Pradesh chief minister K Rosaiah, who completed his five-year term as Governor of Tamil Nadu, had a “home coming” on Saturday.

Rosaiah went to Gandhi Bhavan to participate in the Mahila Congress Committee meeting and he was accorded a warm welcome by all senior and junior party leaders. This is for the first time after relinquishing the office of Governor that Rosaiah attending a party function. And perhaps for the first time in the last six years, Rosaiah sported the Congress khanduwa.

“I feel like coming to my own home after a long time. Though I wish to take active part in the Congress activities, my health does not permit me to do so. Yet, whenever there is an occasion, I love to come here,” Rosaiah said.

He praised the services of Indira Gandhi and her family for the country and said he was happy to recall his association with the daring woman, who strived hard for the poor people.

Interestingly, Rosaiah announced soon after relinquishing the Governor post that he would not like to get back into politics again. He even declared that he did not want to go back into the Congress politics.

“I had been in politics for 60 years and that is enough. No more politics,” he said then.

Rosaiah also clarified that he had no affinity towards Andhra Pradesh. “I don’t want to get into Andhra again. I am happy in Hyderabad and I will stay here for the rest of my life,” he said.
