Renuka Falls In TDP 'butta'?

It looks like YSR Congress party MP from Kurnool Butta Renuka has decided to call it quits to the party and join the Telugu Desam Party.

It was evident from the way Renuka conveniently abstained from the YSR Congress party’s parliamentary party meeting held at party headquarters at Lotus Pond in Hyderabad under the leadership of party president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy on Saturday.

Instead, she had a closed door meeting with TDP general secretary Nara Lokesh, son of TDP president N Chandrababu Naidu in Kurnool on Friday.

Though Renuka told media persons later that she had met Lokesh only to discuss the constituency issues with him, her absence from the YSRC Parliamentary party meeting confirmed that she is moving away from the party.

It was rather surprising, as she was present by the side of Jagan when he felicitated NDA’s presidential candidate Ramnath Kovind a few days ago and also attended the party’s plenary at Guntur last week.

Apparently, Renuka is under pressure to join the TDP to safeguard her business interests. It may be noted that she was the only person from the YSRC who attended the National Women’s Parliament held at Amaravati a few months ago.

It is learnt Jagan expressed anger at Renuka for her absence at the party meeting. He reportedly conveyed to her either to concentrate on party politics or take care of her business. He warned that he would not tolerate any such indiscipline from her.
