Reddy Bros To Stay Back In Congress?

It looks like rebel brothers of Nalgonda district – MLA Komatireddy Venkat Reddy and MLC Komatireddy Rajagopal Reddy – have decided to stay put in the Congress party.

Komatireddy brothers, who had been to New Delhi to witness the anointment of Rahul Gandhi as president of All India Congress Committee, are said to have been given firm assurance from former Congress president Sonia Gandhi that their interests would be protected at any cost and that they would a prominent role in the party in the coming days.

Sonia, however, asked them not to create any troubles for present PCC chief Capt N Uttam Kumar Reddy and wait for the opportunity.

In any case, since Rahul Gandhi has taken charge of the party affairs, he would focus on infusing young blood into the party and in such a case, Rajagopal Reddy would stand a better chance.

Soon after coming out of the AICC office, Venkat Reddy said the State Congress would clear the debt of Sonia Gandhi by bringing the party back to power in 2019 elections.

He described Sonia as an “Angel of Telangana” and exuded confidence that they would dethrone Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao in the 2019 elections.

The election of Rahul as the Congress chief has enthused the party cadres back in Hyderabad, where a large number of party workers celebrated his elevation by distributing sweets to each other. They burst crackers and danced to the drum beats.

TPCC OBC department chairman Chittaranjan Das and State convener T Rajeshwar exhorted every party worker to work hard in every village in the State and ensure party’s landslide in the ensuing 2019 general elections.

Stating that party programs were becoming successful in the State under the dynamic leadership of TPCC president Uttam Kumar Reddy, the OBC leaders said Revanth Reddy’s entry strengthened the Congress party and enthused youths.
