Actress-turned-politician and former MP Vijayashanti is learnt to be desperately trying to stage a comeback into the Telangana Rashtra Samithi and revive her political career.
According to sources, Vijayashanti sought an appointment with TRS president K Chandrasekhar Rao and did hectic lobbying for the same through Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao.
However, KCR refused to give her appointment, leave alone giving green signal for her to return to the TRS. Apparently, KCR’s son K T Rama Rao and daughter Kavitha are dead against the re-entry of Vijayashanti into the party.
The senior actress had once hogged the media limelight by playing a crucial role in the TRS. She was the only TRS member apart from KCR in the Lok Sabha between 2009 and 2014.
She raised her voice strongly in Lok Sabha demanding the Telangana State formation. However, she came out of the TRS just before 2014 elections and joined the Congress. She lost her elections miserably and then disappeared from the political scene.
