Quit MLA Posts, TDP Tells Defectors

Telangana Telugu Desam Party on Wednesday demanded that the defected MLAs should first resign from their posts to continue in the Telangana Rashtra Samithi.

A delegation of TDP leaders submitted a memorandum to Assembly Speaker S Madhusudhana Chary demanding the disqualification of the TDP MLAs who had defected to the TRS recently.

Senior TDP leader A Revanth Reddy said that there was an immediate need to initiate action against the MLAs who changed their party.

He questioned the TRS leaders as to how the Deputy Chief Minister and Education Minister Kadiam Srihari will continue as the Minister and MP at the same time,  and demanded for  immediate action against Srihari.

Revanth Reddy alleged that the TRS leaders were escaping by giving false explanations and demanded the Speaker to initiate action immediately against the MLAs who changed their party without tendering their resignation.

Lashing out at the TRS government, the TTDP Floor leader Errabelli Dayakar Rao challenged the TTDP MLAs who joined TRS Party to tender their resignations and contest elections if they had guts.

“Otherwise, the people will chase the MLAs from the villages”, Errabelli warned.

Stating that the Deputy Speaker post has been losing its sheen, Errabelli said that Deputy Speaker Padma Devender Reddy is participating in Party programs and behaving against the spirit of the constitution. He said that he urged the Speaker to protect the constitutional values.
