Purandeshwari Also Eyeing YSRC?

Purandeshwari Also Eyeing YSRC?

The demand for special category status to Andhra Pradesh seems to have become a nemesis for Bharatiya Janata Party in the state.

Notwithstanding the strong defence being put up by the BJP national leadership, one leader after the other is gradually deserting the party in the state and joining the other parties.

Many of them are preferring to join the YSR Congress party, which has a brighter future in the state after the next elections in 2019.

According to the latest reports, former Union minister Daggubati Purandeshwari is also eyeing the YSRC and has been holding backroom negotiations with the party leaders.

If everything works out, she might call it quits to the Bharatiya Janata Party and join the YSRC very soon.

It is learnt YSRC president Y S Jaganmohan Reddy has given the nod to the entry of Purandeshwari for various reasons.

First, she is NTR’s daughter and her entry would turn NTR’s fans towards the YSRC. Already, Jagan has been owning up NTR by declaring that he would rename Krishna district after the former chief minister.

Secondly, Purandeswari is sister-in-law of Telugu Desam Party president and chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu and she would be effectively used to attack Naidu.

All these days, she had to maintain low profile because of the alliance between the BJP and the TDP. If she joins the YSRC, she could directly take on Naidu.

It is learnt Jagan is contemplating fielding Purandeshwari from Vijayawada or Machilipatnam Lok Sabha seats. This would help turn the Kammas of Krishna district towards YSRC.

Let us watch out for more details.
